If you want to set your Joomla site offline, you must follow a few simple steps. This option should be used only if you want to make minor modifications. For complex changes, we recommend to make changes on a test server.  So, how to set your joomla website offline?

To put Joomla website offline, you must first login in the administration area. Now, once you are logged in you would need to go to the Global Configuration of the site to make the changes.

The first option that appears at this moment is Site Settings. On Site offline option, click the Yes button. Click the Save button at the upper right. Below you will see a box for Offline Message, this will be the message your visitors will see while your site is offline.

To return online, follow the same steps, except at Site offline option, instead of Yes, you select no.

Then click Save at the upper right.
